On September 4th 2009, the Monroe Township Volunteer Fire Co. responded to 8 Public Rd. for the working structure fire. Ladder 51(Lt. Steinhauser) Engine 51(Lt. Hayes) and Rescue 51(Capt. Costa) all responded within minutes of each other. The fire was so advanced that initial crews went straight to defensive operations. The fire took about 3 hours to be placed under control. Station 51 units remained on location for approximately 6 hours until being released by command
