Saturday, March 13, 2010 -
On Saturday, March 13th the entire State of New Jersey was affected by a brutal rain/wind storm. There was no exception in Monroe Township that day receiving over 3.5 inches of rain. The Monroe Township Volunteer Fire Company started to receive calls for service around lunch time that day. The fire dept. performed a wide variety of services including: basement pump outs, water rescues, and assisting the DPW with water removal from storm drains. All in all the Volunteers of District 1 responded to 13 calls for service and did not return to quarters until 4 PM the next day.
